Mental Health in New Zealand

One of the core reasons I started I-Therapy is to work toward breaking down the stigma around mental health in New Zealand culture. When you look at our suicide statistics each year, it becomes clear that mental health impacts all of us in different ways.

This is especially true for young people and young males in New Zealand, who often face additional barriers when it comes to reaching out for help. The traditional "she'll be right" mentality, while part of our resilient Kiwi spirit, can sometimes prevent us from getting support when we need it most.

My goal is to help break down those barriers and make it easier for people to reach out for help when they can, and when it's available to them. Mental health support shouldn't feel intimidating or out of reach, it should feel accessible.

Whether you're dealing with everyday stress, relationship challenges, anxiety, or just feeling like you're not quite yourself, you deserve support that meets you where you are. Online therapy removes many of the traditional barriers and makes professional help more accessible to all New Zealanders.
